Our story
Blue Cypher Bookkeeping, a completely virtual firm, was founded in 2019 by Maddie Craig.
Having worked as a grants manager in a private foundation, Maddie knew how important solid financials were for nonprofits to show the true value of their programs. It’s also vital for for-profit businesses to know their numbers in order to grow their business and get the most deductions at tax time. Yet tracking finances is something many busy founders and owners hated doing and didn’t have the expertise, time or energy to deal with while trying to run and grow their business.
A detail-oriented entrepeneur with a love of finance and an eye for efficiency, she knew she could take bookkeeping off the plate of busy business owners and nonprofit founders and help them get back to doing what they love.
Maddie is a Minnesota State University of Moorhead alum and Fargo, ND native. When not balancing books, she enjoys nerding out about numbers with her husband, Zach, a math teacher. Together, they enjoy swing dancing, getting together with friends, and trying new recipes in the kitchen. While she is based in Fargo, ND, Blue Cypher Bookkeeping works with companies across the United States.
